What is the best thing to do if someone becomes upset during the interview
a)
Tell them to pull themselves together, there are only 14 questions left to answer
b)
Suggest a break for a cup of tea, but leave the tape running as there might be some good material when they talk
c)
Switch off the tape recorder and give the person a chance to recover. Give them the choice as to whether to continue after the break
That is right, don't be nasty or a spy. We should have a break and see if the person is willing to carry on later.
Don't be nasty and we are not spies, we should have a break, STOP the tape and see if the person would feel ok about carrying on later
